Ronin - Charcoal Study

Homework for my Drawing and Painting class and my actual first "semi-decent" attempt. I've done some real interesting renderings using conte crayon, specifically sanguine and they are drawings better left under the bed. This one isn't too bad, but I know that it has it's fair share of needed improvements, most especially with the lighting and shading, which I need to practice a lot more on. What I am happy with is the proportion and the way the muscles are laid in on the shoulder of the raised arm.
